Fair
It was reinforced that our responsibility at the fair is not to enforce Fair/4-H rules, but to expel people as requested by fair board members, and keep order.
It would be to our advantage to have the lines painted twice a week; perhaps the City and County could each do it once.
If you work the parking lot you must let fairgrounds command know if you are leaving the lot so coverage can be found if possible.

Equipment:
The cantle bags should be available and were handed out to everyone present. Jeff, Dave, & Wayne do not have the saddle bags yet, Duane has that gear in his horse trailer.
Training:
Qualifications are December 19th-21st. We do not have times yet, but we can assume they are probably from 12-8. Check the mailbox closer to the time for precise times.
For the good of the order:
Bill Bailey, Tom Callahan, Bruce Estes, and Wayne Baker will be sent a letter in regard to participation and were requested to attend this meeting or send a letter regarding this. Wayne and Bill both expressed their interest in staying in the unit, but in the past work has posed conflicts with work. Bill said he could not attend any Tuesday meeting as things stand now, but that may change in February, and he'll let us know. Wayne and Bill's explanations were both accepted by the membership and no further action/discussion was warranted. A decision regarding Tom was tabled until the February meeting, as Dave said Tom has expressed an interest in staying in but has had family and work conflicts. Dave will contact Tom regarding this. Bruce was made inactive by the membership. After one year he may be stricken from the roles, but in the mean time he can perform duties with the patrol, but may not vote as outlined in the by-laws.
Meeting nights will be moved to the 2nd Tuesday as of January 2001. This means the first meeting in 2001 will be January 9th.
Copies of the By-Laws will be available in the Mounted Patrol Box.
Jerry went over the FTO books; there will be an updated version handed out at the beginning of next year. Jeff McDaniel, Wayne Baker, Bob McGuire, Doug Colvin, and Dave Barnett are interested in pursuing class advancement.
Wayne asked about addressing situations (such as fights, etc) where you are not on duty and perhaps not even in your jurisdiction. Jerry said we should first get help in route, assess the situation, and act accordingly, meaning not act beyond the bounds of your training and ability. You are not required or expected to resolve every situation you come up on, but you should be a responsible citizen and use on-duty officers to try to resolve a problem. If you do not feel comfortable acting in a given situation be sure you are a good witness. Reserve/Mounted Patrol members are the extended eyes and ears of Law Enforcement.
Jeff McDaniel has been a probationary member for 6 months and was voted on unanimously.
Elections for 2001 officers resulted in: President: Alan Moore, Vice President: Duane Estes Secretary/Treasurer: Bob McGuire
