Firearms qualifications are:

February 12-13 - Handgun & Backups

April – To be announced

June 17-18 - ILEA

August 22-23 – To be announced

October 28-29 - ILEA

December 12-13 - Handgun

The dates and type of training have not been set for April.  The type of training has not been set for August.  Qualifications are from 12:00-16:00 then again from 17:00-20:00.

After the meeting a Red Cross First Aid class was given by Alan Moore

There will be a pre-basic class coming up for the 4 new reserves we have.  Anyone interested in any of these classes should contact Corporal Dargie.

Details:

There is a Winterfest Dance at Northeastern February 16th.  Jason Gibson signed up for this.

There are several Basketball games coming up:

Northeastern - Feb 7th (Bob Juday and Bill Bailey signed up for this) and 19th

Hagerstown Sectionals - February 26th-March 1st

For the good of the order:

Several departmental memos were passed around.

The yearly dinner will be at Wellivers mid to late March, not on a  Thursday

The Home Show is March 13th-16th.  We have not yet been contacted regarding this so we do not have any details.

The next firearms is supposed to be in April but has not been posted yet.

The first nuisance training was schedule for April 20th at 6:00 p.m. at NATCO.

Details:

Arron Roberts is on vacation this week so help with animal control and civil process is needed rest of the week.

There is an invitational track meet at Northeastern on April 25th.  Jeff Hensley is the only person signed up for it so far, we need another person to work that.

The March of Dimes Walk is coming up and they need help on Thursday May 1st in the afternoon and Saturday May 3rd in the morning.

The yearly dinner still has not been scheduled.

Training:

The next firearm qualifications is in June.

Due to scheduling conflicts nuisance training was not held on the 20th and has been postponed until this weekend, Sunday May 4th at 6:00 p.m. at NATCO.

O.C. spray training will be May 15th.

Details:

Alva Richardson has decided to retire from the unit after 33 years of active service.

The yearly dinner will be at Wellivers in May

If you carry a weapon on your ankle be sure to remove it before going into the jail.  This is easy to forget so you need to be extra conscious of it.

If you carry O.C. spray it needs to be turned in a new one issued to you as it has expired as of last month.

Training:

As far as we know the next firearm qualifications is June 17th-18th.   Qualifications are from 12:00-16:00 then again from 17:00-20:00.

Due to scheduling conflicts nuisance training was not held last month and will either be this weekend or the next.

Details:

The Dalmation Foundation event is June 14th.

The Relay for Life Walk is coming up and they need help this weekend.  This detail is mostly filled.

The fair is June 21st-28th.  Officers may enter at the NW gate off Salisbury Road and need to check in at the command center.  Officers should not call Wayne County Dispatch to go on duty.

The Model T details at the fairgrounds for the week of July 21st-26th have not been posted but should be within the month.

For the good of the order:

The yearly dinner will be at Wellivers on June 8th at 7:00.

O.C. spray will be available at the fairgrounds.

Lewis Derrell Duncan visited the meeting and is interested in joining the Mounted Patrol Division.
