Treasurer’s Report: $1,526.34 + $2,000 undeposited

Sheriff’s Report:

The Sheriff has a survey that he would like everyone to fill out. It was passed out at the meeting.

Equipment:

Inventories were due Feb 28th

Artie Taylor is turned in a second request for boots but the department is still waiting on them

Some of the saddle pads are worn and need to be cleaned up/repaired. There is also some other tack that could be repaired. Bob will see about taking it up to Lapps for repair.

Training:

Firearms trainings are Apr 22-23, June 17-18, Aug 19-20, Oct 21-22 and Dec 9-10. If you cannot attend any of the trainings you must e-mail Patrolman Moore in order to be excused.

Training has been posted on the calendar.

After the meeting there was training on scene assessment and officer safety

There is training in DMS for Criminal Intelligence.

The goals for 2014 were outlined – the traffic objective will stay in place, and there will be a concentration on increasing drug arrests.

The annual dinner will be a cook out some time after fair.

Mark Dargie has resigned from the unit.

Wendy Albright brought up the REMC Grant. The unit is going to apply to see if we can purchase guns & batons for new members.

The Sheriff distributed a memo expressing his appreciation for all the staff's dedication and commitment during the accreditation process. Special recognition was given to Jason Moore for all his work, and to Rick Barth.

Mike Lieberman is retiring as of July 1^st. Rick Thalls is taking over as Evidence Custodian, and Kyle Weatherly is moving from Patrolman to Detective

A memo from the Sheriff with regard to special pricing on firearms through Avenue Arms was passed around.

Trespass orders are entered online, printed, and the signed copy is kept at the Sheriff's Department. They are not needed at Dispatch.

Sheriff’s Report:

Major Frame attended; he still needs inventories from Jason Berry and Alan Campbell.

People can apply to work as a road officer, jail officer, or UVSU officer online through the sheriff’s web site.

The current jail process is moving forward. They are down 6 people.

Equipment:

Artie Taylor asked for his boots. There was no report on them.

Eric Johnson will put in for a radio holder

Jeff Hensley will bring his VHF radio in for repair

Saturation patrols were very successful, people seemed to feel safer after that.

For the good of the order:

Bob McGuire announced that he would be retiring from the unit in mid-July due to family and health reasons. He will be missed.

People should take lots of pictures of other WCSD officers for accreditation and Facebook.
