JOB TITLE: Youth Coalition Director

Hours: 20 hours per week

Pay: $15.00 per hour


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

Build and sustain school-based youth coalitions at all Wayne County High Schools. Position reports directly to the DFWCP Board and Executive Director respectively.


DUTIES:

Identify and support school-based leadership to engage and ultimately take over youth coalitions at their respective school.

Recruit and retain a diverse and representative youth coalition membership at each school.

Facilitate Youth Coalition meetings monthly during the school year.

Support youth coalitions during the summer months to create and execute prosocial activities during the summer.

Maintain records and data tracking.

Create positive impact within the community.

Attend community events with youth to promote youth coalition and other duties assigned to youth coalition.

Build awareness and positive perception of the coalition within the community.

Ensure development/distribution of education/awareness materials.

Document and report progress, outcomes, and services provided as required.

Attend monthly board meetings to report on activities and results of youth coalition efforts.


EDUCATION:

Minimum of High School Diploma/GED, College Degree Preferred.

Experience preferred working in the field of substance abuse.

Experience preferred in coalition-building and/or community organizing.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to carry bags and boxes of resources from site to site.

Ability to use computers and other technical equipment.

Physical ability to assemble displays for events around the community.
